I first heard about Ropa Pura through twitter, visiting their homepage and finding a really chic, cute style of clothing.
Ropa Pura is a small brand specialising in Lady’s clothes. Whilst the designer, Jumpei Ando, is originally Japanese, he’s now based in Paris, France, with his atelier in an area called Mairie de Clichy.
Ando’s designs make use of patterns drawn from pop art and unique hemming, producing an impressive collections of shirts and skirts amongst other things. Whilst the clothes have a cute quality, there’s also an air of sophistication about them.
Being based in Paris, Ropa Pura usually exhibit in France, also selling clothes via its online shop (which is current being redeveloped and due to go online again in October) however there is set to be a Ropa Pura pop-up shop opening in Shimokitazawa for a limited period. So if you’re into the designs you should get yourself along – you can find something that you’ll really like.
